(Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)Louisville is in the market for a new football coach after dismissing Bobby Petrino last weekend. Right now, the clear-cut favorite for the position is Purdue’s Jeff Brohm.Brohm is a former Louisville star who also was an assistant coach at his alma mater from 2003-08. He’s won at Western Kentucky and Purdue and seems like a slam dunk hire for the Cardinals.Earlier today, ESPN radio host Dan Dakich reported that Brohm will be officially named the new head coach on Monday, November 26. He cited two sources who told him that would be the date. However, CardinalSports.com editor and Louisville radio host Howie Lindsey poured some cold water on Dakich’s report, saying that no decision will be announced on the 26th.“I am very comfortable saying Louisville will NOT name a new football coach on November 26, 2018,” Lindsey tweeted.I am very comfortable saying Louisville will NOT name a new football coach on November 26, 2018.— Howie Lindsey (@howielindsey) November 15, 2018In a subsequent tweet, Lindsey indicated any official announcement will come after Dec. 6 when Petrino’s buyout figure drops $1.1 million. pic.twitter.com/y8DxDejEjI— Howie Lindsey (@howielindsey) November 15, 2018We still expect Brohm to be the new coach at UL, but time will tell which of these reports is correct.
